With tired wings and a desire to sleep in my own bed every night, I returned to teaching. I taught in the most sought after school districts in Southern California, Newport-Mesa Unified and Laguna Beach Unified as well as inner city schools in Santa Ana and Los Angeles. I wanted to experience the full range and in so doing also taught adults English as a Second Language and specialized in Second Language Acquisition methods.

 

With a desire to give back, I then decided to join the United States Peace Corps. My primary project was to train future teachers in the country of Paraguay. We had secondary projects as well and I never lacked for something to share. One of my favorite sayings remains, "One day I would like to teach just a few people many and beautiful things, that will help them when they will one day teach, a few people". This was the single most challenging thing I've experienced thus far and as a result the most rewarding.

 

I then thought self employment might be a good new challenge and I purchased a mailbox franchise in Irvine. Out of 400 stores, I took it from its inception to number 6 in overall sales in the country.

 

I have lived in 5 countries: Mexico, United States, France, England and Paraguay. I speak five languages: Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, and Guarani (the indigenous language of Paraguay).

Knowing that service as well as being my own boss were necessary for me to thrive, I got my Real Estate License and am loving every minute. Success does not come overnight, but I am grateful to say I feel that I am in full motion.
